Ron Paul Supporters Disgruntled: "Time to Move Beyond Politics?"

The following is a introduction to a guest post that appeared on the financial and news website, ZeroHedge. Ron Paul supporters are most certainly disgruntled after the way they were treated at the recent RNC convention.

I am still not quite sure why a soft glove was not used and why Romney did not try to bring the Ron Paul supporters into the fold. They are not happen to say the least.

Read more below:

"In the lead up weekend to the RNC convention, Tampa, Florida was awash in political electricity. The ideal of democratic participation, the feeling of rejuvenation and community, joining the ranks of one’s ideological brethren to charge into intellectual combat for the future of our nation. Unfortunately, some were well aware that the Republican convention was a farce, and knew full well what the end result would be for the Ron Paul campaign. It has become clear that Benton and others have been “handling” Ron Paul for a considerable portion of his campaign and attempting to divorce him from the elements of the movement which are seen as “extreme” or anti-establishment, even though these are the same elements that catapulted Ron Paul into the minds of average Americans. Sadly, this is the ultimate weakness of the political ideal. The cold hard fact is; some men are not men. Some men are monsters, and reason is the last thing that will ever sway them… All in all, it is not a bad time to be a champion of the Constitutional philosophy, and the existence of such a movement gives me enduring optimism. I do not “think” we will prevail; I KNOW we will prevail. It is time to take matters into our own hands."

Romney Heads Into the Hurricane

"In a last-minute change of plans, Mitt Romney will head to visit storm-affected areas in New Orleans today, skipping a previously scheduled joint rally with running mate Paul Ryan in the battleground state of Virginia this afternoon."

A Romney aide told ABC News that Romney will “join Gov. Jindal and will meet with first responders, thank them for their work and see areas impacted by the storm in LaFitte, La.”"

Paul Ryan Goes on the Attack - Offers Scathing Critique of Obama

Paul Ryan at the Republican National Convention went on the attack and offered a scathing critique of the of Obama regime and their policies. Lines such as the following were heard during his speech:

"With all their attack ads, the president is just throwing away money - and he's pretty experienced at that."

This of course is pointing out the massive deficits that Obama has continued to accumalate over the course of his time in office. He continues with more punches:

"College graduates should not have to live out their twenties in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life,"

This line will be sure to hit home against Obama and his campaign team. This of course is referring to the youth that came out in droves last time in support of Obama. Unfortunately much of that youth has been horribly let down by broken promises. Hence why they are still in their parents basements.

Overall it was a great speech, full of not only jabs and punches, but also some very meaningful and relevant facts and solutions.

What America Reads in Red and Blue

"If the following "heatmap" of readership political bent by state from Amazon is any indication of the votership inclination in the coming election, then Mitt Romney, more natural disasters notwithstanding, has nothing to worry about. Then again in the world of oxymorons, there are few quite as potent as "America Reads" (with the exception of the occasional money-losing Kindle for the aspirationally cool reader)."

Romney: "No One has Asked to See my Birth Certificate"

Romney has finally done what he should of a long time ago! He has brought up the fact of Obama's birth certificate. Who know's where Obama was born.

Perhaps he was born in the U.S, perhaps not? But one thing we know for sure is this, we're not getting the full story.

If Romney keeps talking like this, he can't lose. Go to town Romney.

The Fiscal Cliff & Romney / Ryan

"Romney's selection of Paul Ryan as his veep clarifies the policy debate (forcing typically middle-of-the-road voters to become more polarized to the size of government) into the November election and materially changes the odds of the fiscal cliff's resolution. As Morgan Stanley's Vince Reinhart notes, "by tying one side to an explicit plan for fiscal consolidation, the Ryan selection makes it much more likely that the campaign will focus on the appropriate role of the government. That is, the debate will be about the right level of federal expenditure relative to national income, the progressivity of the tax system, and the extent to which family incomes are protected on the downside by Washington, DC." Although theoretically the Ryan pick raises the chance of a benign, before-the-election resolution to the fiscal cliff 'issue', it also worsens the likely outcome if the legislative stand-off continues into 2013 - which the odds suggest is the case."

Obama's Got to Go - Niall Ferguson

"In his inaugural address, Obama promised “not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth.” He promised to “build the roads and bridges, the electric grids, and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.” He promised to “restore science to its rightful place and wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and lower its cost.” And he promised to “transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age.” Unfortunately the president’s scorecard on every single one of those bold pledges is pitiful."

Obama Tells Reporters What to Ask Him

Really? What is he so scared of? Perhaps one too many skeletons in the closet? This is from the "White House Dossier";

"The White House is doing something with its local TV interviews that it could not easily get away with in encounters with the White House press corps, which President Obama has been studiously ignoring: choosing the topic about which President Obama and the reporter will talk."

Limited Government?

Protester in Wisconsin Spits on Romney Supporter

In Appleton Wisconsin a 83 year old protester was caught in the act spitting on a Romney supporter. No matter what side you take, this was inappropriate. In my opinion this is one of the ultimate insults. The protester has been identified as Mary Hoglund

MSNBC's Toure Racial Baiting: Romney Engaged In "Niggerization"

Toure's comments were completely uncalled for. This is pure race baiting and no one on either side should be partaking in this pure nonsense.

This seems to be a common tactic of the Obama campaign.

Most Recent Gallup Poll: Elections 2012 Obama Vs Romney

The results from the most recent Gallup 2012 elections poll have been released. The question was asked in this manner:

"Suppose the presidential election were held today. If Barack Obama were the Democratic Party's candidate and Mitt Romney were the Republican Party's candidate, who would you vote for Barack Obama, the Democrat or Mitt Romney, the Republican?"

And the results of this question?

Obama: 45%

Romney: 47%

Very tight but Romney seems to be catching up and pulling slightly ahead.

Next Assault by Romney and Ryan? Obama's Spending

The Romney-Ryan campaign is gearing up for their next attack piece. The target? Obama and Medicare. This was heard today by Ryan:

"The president is talking about Medicare today. We want this debate. We need this debate and we will win this debate."

Also Fox News gave their perspective on the Republican attack plan:

"Right now, the effort is to turn around the Democratic attacks on Ryan's Medicare program by pointing to Obama's health law, which is widely considered unaffordable, and pointing out that it was Obama who "ended Medicare as we know it" by diverting more than $700 billion from the popular entitlement program to pay for a new, expensive health-insurance entitlement."

Regardless of how all this turns out, we now that people are getting sick and tired of the massive unlimited debt creation. Especially since essentially nothing is trickling down to the man on the street.

Back to the Future! Biden Parties Like it's 1999!

I think the Obama campaign needs to keep Biden under lock and key. Between the "They're Going To Put Y'all Back In Chains" comment and his other recent mishaps it is not going well for Joe.

Things unfortunately aren't getting any better for the Vice President. Just today he had another major embarrassing moment. This one? He forgot what decade he was living in. This is the quote today that is causing so much grief for him today:

"Folks, where's it written we cannot lead the world in the 20th century in making automobiles?"

Ouch, the message was good Joe, but unfortunately you got the wrong century. It's OK I occasionally forget what galaxy I'm living in as well. /end sarcasm.

Romney Attacks Obama in Latest Speech

In a recent campaign in Ohio Romney was in full attack mode and was heard saying such things as:

"Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago".

This was of course referring to the recent comment that Biden made “put y’all back in chains." that has not gone over very well for the Obama campaign.

Romney didn't stop there although, he continued his attack and followed up with this:

"This is an election in which we should be talking about the path ahead, but you don't hear any answers coming from President Obama’s re-election campaign. That’s because he's intellectually exhausted, out of ideas, and out of energy. And so his campaign has resorted to diversions and distractions, to demagoguing and defaming others. This is an old game in politics; what’s different this year is that the president is taking things to a new low."

No matter what side you have decided to take, one thing we can all agree on is that this is going to be a interesting and heated campaign.

Obama Campaign is Confident that Biden can Take on Ryan

"Despite the “chains” remark, Obama’s campaign is brimming with confidence about the match-up between Biden and Ryan, arguing that the real game-changer is on their side."

"Senior aides close to Biden insist the vice president can attack Ryan and Romney with force and his characteristic folksiness, all while charming a crowd with humor and self-effacement."

“He's real confident talking about Ryan because he knows him. It's an easy thing for him to do,” said one senior adviser to Biden. “He can criticize Ryan without being personal about it.”
